Default 2007 LR3 Alignment Problem

I own a 2007 LR3 SE with 8000 miles. I enjoy everything about the rover with the exception of 1 issue.

There is what I perceive as a problem with the alignment. Almost from day one, the car pulls to the right. If I am driving on a road or freeway and let go of the wheel, it will drift to the right. Sometimes when I hit a bump or break, it pulls to the right. To drive and stay in a lane, I have pull slight left on the steering wheel.

At 500 miles, I took the car in. The dealer ran an alignment test and it tested ok. I did a test drive with the tech and was able to show what the car did driving at 35 down a flat city street, but he said it was normal and because the alignment was within tolerance there is nothing he can do.

I had my car in for its first service at 7500 miles and brought up the issue again. They tested the alignment again and this time found it out of alignment. The service manager told me this very abnormal for a rover with so few miles to go out of alignment. So, I was relived they found what had been concerning me.

One block away from the dealer, I could tell the problem had not been fixed. Not having time or patience to go back, I have been driving for the past two weeks unsure what to do next. I will most likely take it back in soon, but I would like to get feedback from others first.

Thanks for your time.

If any Land Rover Tech tells you that the car pulling on a flat street either right or left is normal, get another tech. Its not normal.
I would first get the shop foreman, and then the service manager and show him what your car is doing. Have the patience, and resolve this so that you are not driving a 50K car with such an annoying issue. I have an 07 HSE and have unfortunately very little confidence in my service dept due to my recent experiences. Good Luck..

check your tires ...if you have abnormal wear as if you had an allignment problem . then i would blame the tires ...i had my front tires have terrible inner wear and the truck pulled to the right with vibration in the steering wheel . tires got worse and worse but i hadGOOD alignment .
changed out the stock bad years for wrangler silent armors, instant fix . ive only put a thousand miles since , but the fact that i had tire wear and vibration with a good allignment made me wonder , maybe they were just out of balance ??? but either way those tires sucked . i changed em out and it drives like a rover should ..
maybe wrong but that was my situation

Ditto on bad tires and ditto on bad shop techs. Have had both. The Wrangler H/P's are probably the worst tires I have come accross in my life. I put silent armors on my LR3 as well, drives like a dream, and off roads like a champ!

I have had the same alignment issues with my 06 LR3. In fact I am going on my 3rd set of tires in 24,000 miles. I even rotated and balanced the tires every 7k miles. I haven't had the problems with the service department except for this issue. The first set of tires were the stock good years. When those blew out after 11k miles I put on some Pirellis. They blew out after another 13k miles. Now I have the Cooper Zeon LTZ's. The car still pulls. I am taking it in tomorrow morning to get to the bottom of this. They claim that they can't pay for tires or compinsate me in anyway because I have had the car for longer than 12k miles. If anyone has any ideas please post.

If you are still having this problem, call the service manager and have him set up an appointment with the local factory service rep, then go drive with him, that will get you some results.
Also, quit doing your oil changes every 7500 miles, it is hard on your engine.

this is a common problem, alot of these cars were not aligned right from the factory,I have seen tires especially rear ones worn down to the core on the inside edge, very dangerous, and this was on cars with 7k-10k miles...new tires and alignment will correct the situation, but because these cars are heavy and most people drive theses cars hard, tires and brakes do not last that long

I haven't done my oil changes that often. I read somewhere that you need to do those every 10k miles. But I had to get the tires rotated becuase they lost tread so fast. I am on my way now to get it realigned. Then I will go play off road all weekend in the snow. We will see how it goes.

Mike what do you mean quit doing oil changes every 7500 miles? I am confused. Since when is changing your oil bad for your engine?
Are you saying change your oil more often?
