Default 2008 LR3 codes P0300-P0308

Hi my brother-in-laws LR3 had a hard time starting the other day, the truck started up but the rpms dropped and the truck ran rough for a little while, than afterwards ran fine. I put my Landrover scanner on it and the codes below popped up, P0420, P0316, P0616, P0513, P0300-P0308, its hard to believe all his injectors or plugs are bad, anybody else run into this problem and what was the solution? I cleared the codes and they haven't come back. I'm thinking possible fuel pump issue, he ran out of gas a couple months back which fried his fuel pump, he got a new one installed but that's the only thing I can think of that would possibly cause all the cylinders to misfire???? Thanks.

our 2012 RR HSE did this.. basically the injectors were fouled from not using premium gas in it. Run it down to 7-10 gallons and use BG44 fuel injector cleaner - run it though the rev range and fill with premium when the light comes on and then do it again when it hits 100 miles range. The LR3 is a non-direct injected motor so should be less susceptible that the DI L322.
P0420 is the Cat Efficiency code, 316 is misfire first 1000 rev's, 616 is starter relay, 513 is key invalid, and then Misfire on all cylinders...P0300-08 (usually in conjunction with P0316) -
so taking these in total.. Fuel injectors (p0420, 316, 300-08) codes, then you also have a dying starter (maybe.. mine died without the code though on my 07 LR3), and your key battery is low ie old and does not hold a good charge. for now i would ignore the battery code, and the starter code unless it starts slow.

my 2 cents.. hope that helps

Default p0308 & p0316....caused by unleaded fuel

I have a similar problem. I have a 2005 LR3 SE with 138,000 Miles ( I had the car for 2 years and started with 98,000 miles). For the last couple of month unleaded fuel was used (yup, I know now this was not a good idea).

The problems started with a rough idle - the car would start as normal at about 1200 rpm and then drop to 750rpm. However, there would be a little rumbling around 750prm and the rev counter would fluctuate a small amount, but you could feel the rumble or pop pop

The very next day I got P0308 and P0316 codes.

This is the action I took

1) Cleared the codes
2) Add octane booster

This made the situation a little better
Got the error codes again

1) Cleared Codes ( haven't had any since )
2) Added BK44 injector cleaner at half a tank

Seemed better, but got a couple of rumbles during idle

1) Filled up to full when near empty
2) Still had issues so added BK44 injector 60 miles into the new tank

Seemed better, but I am still getting a couple of rumbles during idles

1) Cleaned MAFS ( which was really dirty on one side )
2) Cleaned Throttle Body ( lots of tar or black stuff at the centre - took a while to clean )
3) added BK44 ( 3rd time ) with less than 100 miles left in the tank

Seemed much better

1) Filled up.

Now the car has the rough idle only when cold, once it's warmed up (after 50 miles) it no longer does it

Any suggestions on my next move?
