Default 9 miles on rover CHECK ENGINE ON!!!!

Just picked up my 2007 LR3 from the dealership. It had 09 miles on it. Driving down the street to my park in the garage the check engine light comes on. Pull into the garage and turn the rover off. Wait 1 minute and start it back up....light is still on. I called the salesman to enlighten him. He said he would have a loaner driven out right away and I can still drive therover with the light on. Away my rover went with 21 miles on it back to the dealership. I wonder how often this happens? The driver told me it's probably something electrical. Will we find out with diagnostics and let you know. Well, I hope this is the last time. I got a lot ofcrap for going with land rover from family/friends-Ihope this is the last issue.

Congrats on your LR3! I don't know if it's related, but around the first month of owning (this is more than 2 years ago), the engine just dies. Luckily, brakes work fine and I pulled over to restart. This happened almost 10 times. It nearly stops your heart the first couple times, but after a while it just gets anoying.

I gotmy only CEL onthe 7th day of ownership, it was fixed by updating software (according to the dealer). As long as it's not flashing, you can continue driving.

After being in the car business for over 30 years, the one thing I learned was that any thing mechanical can and will fail.
Check engine light can be anything from a loose gas cap to an engine.
Let us know what they found when you get it back.

Dealer called my today and said the clamp that holds the hose to the airintake wasn't tightened and thus causing the engine to ask "why is there a air leak in the system." Which caused th light to come on. It's all good. The team at LAS VEGAS LANDROVER handled the situation better than expected. When they dropped of my rover they also had a gift cardfor Ruth Chris steak house $100 on them!

Glad you got it sorted quickly. Hopefully no more issues with it.

now that is some thread necromancy!
Anyways, just to make it legit, in a previous life I had bought a J**p Wr@ng#r new from the dealer and it didn't get 10 miles before that little yellow light of mine came on o shine. Called the dealer, they sent a tow truck....since Jeep was a Chrysler product the truck took it to the Chrysler dealer, not the Jeep dealer. After getting that figured out, the Jeep dealer fixed it, and then we got the light again before we left the lot. Back in the garage, took them a week to finally order a part and actually repair it.
So it's not just LR that can't shoot straight 100% of the time!
