Default Adaptive Transmission

I recently purchased a 2006 LR3 HSE and I had to get the infamous transmission reflash due the tranny slamming into 1st gear. After 3 trips to the dealer this has been solved. However one issue still remains and I wonder if anyone can sheld some light on this for me. When I'm at highway speeds the truck shifts a too high of an rpm (around 5,000-6,000). I brought this up to my service manager and he said that since the reflash the truck is still learning the way that I drive. I then asked him how long it take for the transmission to learn my driving style and he said about 500 miles. Is this true? Thanks for any help or advice provided.

The dealer is right, how heavy a foot do you have when driving. I know under a full throttle the tranny won't shift into high until you get in the mid 5000 range.

Coming from a sports car I must admit that my foot can be heavy at times. Thanks for your response.
