Default adding handsfree cell phone

I recently purchased a 2005 LR3 V8 SE and would like to add bluetooth handsfree for my cell phone (iphone 7) - I went to my local audio store and he says close to $1000 - anyone done this that could help me out with options?

Land rover does sell the bluetooth kit that can be installed by them. I don't think it would be near a grand however.... The overarching issue however is when this truck came out bluetooth is not what it is now. What i'm getting at is there might be a chance your iPhone 7 wont even connect to the factory bluetooth. The simplest option is to buy one of those aux port bluetooth adapters. I have one and it works great. I suppose you could replace the head unit but personally I hate the look of aftermarket head units in these trucks. Not to mention even with adding the bluetooth your not achieving the hands free goal because you lack the steering wheel controls for the phone. Im in the same boat with you a SE with no bluetooth. Personally ill take the hit it gadgets and toys for less overall electrical systems on the truck. IMO rovers run best when they are simple as possible. (Not saying by any stretch the LR3 is unreliable)

I would go with a cheap aux gizmo from Amazon for < $50 and call it good enough. The factory Bluetooth in my HSE is not reliable at all.

Yeah my parts truck was loaded and had that, i was advised against it , not exactly a quality item back then from what im told, new aftermarket probably the best ,alot of advancements made since 05

I would be interested tjough if they could even do it since i found first hand that in 05 lr3 was not pre wired for everything so adding options can be real tricky, getting them to function with the bcm or radio module even more fun, maybe not even doable

My 2006 HSE has Bluetooth, but call quality isn't the best according to my inside sales person with my company. She actually hung up on me once, demanding I never use it again when I need her help. I mostly use my Jawbone device now, which is a little better.
