Default After Market Radio

Hello LR owners, I have a question hopefully I can get an answer. I am replacing my navigation unit with a 10.1 multimedia radio. I bought the Axxess radio harness for the LR3 and connected the plugs to each other as directed. I can not for the life of me get any sound. My friend and I determined that the amp is blinking yellow when there is no sound. I connected everything back to see the status of the amp and it stays a solid yellow light. Can anyone give any advise on what am I doing wrong. Thank you in advance.

The factory amp has a yellow light? Never noticed I guess. Does the new unit you are putting in connect to the MOST network? If not did you bypass it?

The MOST network is the fiber network. I assume what you are putting in is compatible with the truck, so the MOST network should be needed to connect. Two orange covered fiber optic cables make up the network ring. If it does not use it, it has to be bypassed. Although if the thing you are installing does not use MOST, then not sure how it will work anyway without some sorta interface. The factory AMP is the brain and audio system for the truck. The head unit in the dash is pretty much a dummy.

Yes I do have the MOST system and have the orange fiber optic cable. I agree that if the amp doesn’t work the radio is a brick. Do you have a pic for how this should be connected?

The connector just goes into what you are installing. Or you pick up a MOST bypass on eBay and attach, which will complete the loop that was broken by removing the Nav unit. Keep in mind the unit you are installing will never work with the audio system though.

Thank you . After watching so many videos , I finally found one that mentions the optical loop bypass connector. Without thst , there is no sound! And that’s exactly what happened to me. I ordered this part and once I get and connected, I will give you the update. Thanks a million for your invaluable feedback.

This is what I bought

Another question, so now that I am replacing the original Navigation, I do not need the navigation connections, correct?

If you are only replacing the navigation with something independent, then no, you won't be using any of the connectors. I assume what you are installing is, essentially, just a tablet with its own data/GPS, etc?
