2005 LR3 166400 miles V8 SE
radio is shorting out due to water damage, which makes navigation screen shut down too. Insurance is covering, Land Rover wants $2459 to replace. Personally the navigation is way out of date even with an updated disk i bought here from great guy in the Netherlands. I want to know my options.
- i could buy used...but still outdated stereo system, or aftermarket with new bluetooth and use my always updated phone directions
- problem is can it go where navigation screen is, or will it need to be where radio is?
- i would prefer where radio is and hopefully someone knows name or part number for dash cubby hole for those trucks without navigation screen
- it seems to be a well known problem but i cant find anyone with solutions.
- anyone successfully found and fixed the short? I really want my 6 CDs back.
- also it comes on whenever truck is started then shuts down temperature error. The radio screen is lite but nothing shows on it. Any ideas how i can get it to eject, or eject all while my 1 to 2 minute window of it working is on? It comes on about every 5 minutes?
okay so aftermarket advice...if it will work with speakers, and possible options. Thanks for any comments.
