Default Air blend doors give a code?

i had a reputable shop tell me I have a heater core go bad.

just had another shop tell me they pulled codes that lend them to believe that the blend doors are showing codes.

if the actuator on a air blend door is going or gone bad, does that throw a code that can be read?

The reputable shop should have offered to do a flush to actually see if the heater core was blocked... otherwise, doesn't sound to "reputable" to me if they just want to tear into your dash without doing easier, cheaper diagnostics.

There was a couple fo codes for my blend doors that my shop pulled when they did the flush. Don't know the code number as they just made notes on the work order. Basially there were codes from three of the actuators but I know two of them are working fine. Still waiting for decent weather to physically check the drivers footwell motor.

How many blender doors are there? I thought there was only two, one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side.

I thought the others were just doors to direct air thru the various vents.

You are correct, that makes for 4 motors... I suppose you could technically not consider the upper ones "blend" but they are the same stepper motors, iirc.

For what it's worth, I had a ton of blend-door codes until I replaced by battery. I think low voltage can cause them to be wonky.
