Air compressor replacement - any experience with cheap ebay compressors?

The reservoirs can leak at any point, but my understanding is that they typically leak from the bottom portion. From moisture inside or water outside, it gravitates downward. I would starting checking over valve blocks, lines, etc. Keep looking for the leak or you will just be missing parts at it. Although with that said, the tank may be leaking and if not it may leak eventually. So replacement is not the worst thing you can do, it just may not be the actual issue. A new tank is about $150 from Lucky8.

huggi, the pressure decrease after the compressor shuts off is probably just the software venting the gallery to make it easier on the compressor when it starts again: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic123657.html

If you don't find any leaks at the reservoir, you could also have an issue with the reservoir valve in the center valve block.

Ha, agreed. Full remote diagnosis is probably still above my pay grade. Point is only that the pressure reading drop off is not directly attributable to a reservoir leak. The inherent behavior of the software is in play, as are several other connections off of the gallery.

Would have to find a link to my previous posts, but in my case the tank produced leaks where the tank is closest to the frame. Wasn't easy to figure out at first as my tank looked brand new otherwise. A little gravel combined with moisture and mag chloride did mine in.

Still on original shocks and air springs, but I've replaced everything else. Working great after 152K miles. I used to replace shocks every 50K in other vehicles, but I've driven newer LR4's recently and mine is on par in ride.

I forgot about the exhaust valve, did you service/replace that bit when you had the compressor out?

If you are asking me, no I didn't do anything with the exhaust portion. Just new valves, compressor, and tank. Since the only exposure of the exhaust is in the interior of the vehicle, and if you open up the left side it still looks brand new, so it seemed like a waste to even mess with it.

I was asking huggi, its a known failure point. LR even made a small kit specifically for servicing it.
