Air suspension
Good evening, i recently bought a 2006 Land Rover LR3 with 120k miles. They told me that the air bags on all 4 tires needed to get replaced. The person i bought it from rewired the air lines so that you can put air in manually. Now the mechanic wants me to buy new airlines and get a compressor. Is it better to switch to coil springs? Air ride is great but fell like it’s costing more money. Really appreciate some feed back

Nothing rides like air. The airlines are really just standard 6mm (I think 6mm, dont quote me) high pressure airlines. You can easily cut, splice and couple them with high pressure couplers. I cary couplers just in case I cut one on the trail.
Air struts only need to be replaced if leaking. The fronts are much more prone to leaking than the rears. At that milage I would be supposed any need to be replaced unless it sat rotting some place for a long time.
The compressor is likely the main issue. I am guessing it failed causing someone to modify the system to take air manually.
