Default Air Suspension Issues

07 SE What I've done to date. I've rebuilt the air compressor a little over a year ago, new cap and desiccant. Works, but is a little slow sometimes, other times you'd think it's brand new. I replaced the front valve block a few months ago it. I had been rebuilt but was still leaking from a connection point, almost like it was stripped. Verified it was good by raising it up, pulling the fuse and left it for a few days, no issues at all, measured the arches and no sag at all.
The new issue - I drive it almost daily. I left it for about 36 hours and the whole car had dropped visibly. Ok no big deal start it up, goes up immediately all good. Happened again so I raised it up, pulled the fuse to lock it in and next morning the rear is nearly bottomed out and one rear sensor is showing out of range in it's own world. I got it back up been driving it nearly daily, but it'll sit maybe 6pm to 6pm before it's driven and it's fine one day, the next, one end will sag or the whole thing will drop out. It's not consistent so I'm at a loss on what could be going on. Is the sensor going bad and it's self leveling itself to the bump stops or something? I'm not sure what to check anymore, I know people love the air, but for as little as I use the height adjustment, I'm close to just going with coils and being done with the air. I'd rather get this working, but it seems something get's fixed and then something else goes wrong.

Looks like it time to look at the rear valve block, or rear strut.
Since you have done the overnight fuse test (which fuse did you pull?), try putting it into off road height and spray soapy water on the rubber portions of the air spring and the line fitting at the top looking for bubbles. While you are there, you could spray the valve block to see if a fitting is leaking.

How did you determine that the sensor was out of range?

Hope this helps
Jeff

I pulled fuse 26. I checked the rear valve block when I replaced the front, guess It's time to check it again. I was looking at the sensors on the 4x4 screen. The rear right was way off compared to the left and the car was pretty even. Really was using as a guide. That's how I figured out the front valve block was going, the same front sensor was going crazy because it was loosing air at the block for the front right strut. This is the first the rear one has shown up.

thanks, i'll take another look at the rear block.

Raise it to offroad height and check the struts with soapy water, i had a leaking front strut that really only only showed itself once raised with a jack.
Then the big woosh of escaping air was a give away.

...and don't go coils. It isn't just about the ability to adjust the height, it's also the overall ride and the way the EAS is integrated into all the other systems.

I checked the rear valve block and the right side output was definitely loose and had a small leak. Was able to tighten it up, but seems like the threads are worn as it's still leaking a bit, Can I use something on the threads? I've seen different comments about not using any type of sealer and others that have with success. I just need this thing to work without having to worry about it.

Undo it and see if you can screw it back in neatly, sealer is a last resort before replacing the block.

I'm thinking maybe a little piece of tape, so it doesn't impact . I'm able to get mostly screwed in with my fingers and only use the wrench for the last bit. it seems like the thread is loose, this happened on the front block and i had to replace it.
