Just had a new alternator installed in 2008 LR3 HSE 4.4 V8. Failed at 114K miles.




Dealer installed part number LR124960. I thought I was getting a brand new alternator but there was a core swap fee on the invoice.




Does this PN correspond to a brand new alternator or a rebuilt unit?

 

I sure hope its new since a new OEM alternator is about $600 to begin with. They gold plate it?

 

I was hoping that I had misread the price that they charged you. Sorry to know that it was correct. They really stuck it to you. Brand new denso on eBay or Amazon for around $300. But at least your’s works............ Phil
