Default One of four brake lights working

I recently noticed that only one brake light is working on my 2006 LR3 HSE. All the primary filaments light up when the car lights are turned on, and the secondary filaments for the brakes look fine on inspection. I would presume the fuse is the same for both filaments? Could the brake switch go bad to impact in this way, or is it all-or-nothing?

Side note...I recently got a code for P0579 for Cruise Control, which is likely related to a switch in the same area?

Simply switching the bulbs seemed to fix the issue. Perhaps the one not working just unset a bit. Dropped and broke one of the bulbs in the process...

...not to mention I was wrong: only the top bulbs on each side are brake lights. I assumed all four were bcause they each had double filaments, but wiring says otherwise.

Can I simply switch out for LED bulbs? Like these: https://www.autozone.com/electrical-...d/14298_0_1556

I don't believe you can swap out the incandescent bulbs with LED's because of the amperage draw/watt rating difference which could trigger fault(s). Speaking of incandescent bulbs... I've used Sylvania 7528 bulbs for a couple of years now with no issues. The "must use OEM Land Rover tail light bulbs" is simply an untrue statement everyone seems to live by...

I read a few posts that "long lasting" is a larger fillament and gets too hot...not to split hairs, but any concerns with those? That seems to be the more common variant of the bulb.

I'm using the Sylvania 7528LL "Long Life" bulbs. I haven't had any issues using these bulbs. I don't spend a lot of time in stop and go traffic if that makes any difference in "getting too hot"... probably internet conjecture...
