Default Another AMK Compressor/Software question...

...for those that have the AMK: Do you find that it runs more frequently, especially the first 5 minutes or so after start-up? Mine will run, then turn off then within 4 seconds or so, run again for 15 seconds, then turn off...possibly repeat that, then be done. When it's done, it's done. ....but seems like most start-ups goes through that.

With the Hitachi it always ran upon start-up but it was a one-and-done kind of thing. Anyone else notice this?

I know with the latest hitachi software they made the compressor run more often, but at lower pressures, trying to get them to last longer and not heat up so much. Perhaps the AMK runs with a similar strategy, I have no experience with the AMK, but I did update the hitachi from the original software to the latest I could get on the nanocom site.

I guess I'll be able to let you know how long my AMK runs soon enough...

I dont have an AMK, but I have heard one and it was frequent short cycles.

jafir, Thats a myth about the LR3 Hitatchis running a lower PSI. Due to slightly different suspension geometry, only the LR4's got that SW. Gap posted this a while back to debunk:

It says there that the previous hitachi software residual pressure was "no exhaust" that makes me think that the residual pressure was higher, and there for wouldn't have to run as often or as long to get back up to the operating pressures...

I dont think "exhaust" would have any relevance to frequency and only a very minor effect on duration. The tank is still at 258psi, its the small volume air in the line between the compressor and tank that is reduced to 54psi. The pressure in the line from the compressor to the tank valve is getting dumped at the end of each run cycle to make the next startup easier on the compressor.

BTW - normal atmospheric sea level pressure is about 14psi so its only slightly pressurized.
