Another grinding noise thread..
I apologize is this is a repeat. I searched and read a lot of threads about grinding noises and found some similarities to my situation, but none of them quite match up.
My 08 LR3 SE has a grinding noise that seems to be coming from the front, and it goes away when I turn either direction. In addition, I have a bit of what sounds like a roar that I can't pinpoint the location of. It is momentum related meaning it does not go away when I put the tranny in nuetral and coast. I noticed the front differentiel does not have the breather tube upgrade...
little info: The PO of this LR3 recently put new brake pads and rotors, new tranny pan assy and a new air pump on the vehicle - all parts from Atl British.
I have the vehicle scheduled at my local LR stealership for differentiel service (front and rear) next Friday, as well as a full diagnostic.
At the moment, I feel like a got a good deal on the vehicle, 110K on the ODO, very clean, everything works and I paid $11k. I know the PO, and I trust him, but he only owned it for 2 years, and moved on to a 2014 LR4...
Any input is welcome and wanted. Thanks!
