Arnott strut dust boot
I installed arnott air struts on the front of my 2006 LR3 earlier this year. Decided to take a look at my sway bar links and bushes due to some clanking with very mild offroading. Noticed the boot on my strut was torn. Anyone have this issue? There doesn't seem to be much play at all in the sway bar, but is it possible that's what tore it?
Well, the stock LR3 front struts did not come with dust boots. It was apparently available as a dealer installed upgrade, however. So, the fact that you have them at all puts you ahead of most. As for the clanking, how old are your lower control arm bushings? They are the usual suspect for that
They came standard on the Arnotts. I've contacted Arnott and they are going to get back with me on Monday on what i jeed to do. My main concern is getting a new boot just to have the sway bar (if it was that) chew it up again. The bushes are probably 130,000. I had all kinds of creaking along with the clanking. Sounds like it's about time to replace bushes.
Not going to be an easy road dealing with Arnott. Called twice, they seemed eager to help at first. Said they'd get back with me last Monday, about getting a replacement boot. Haven't heard anything since.....ugh
