Ok so on most racks there is a flat side to the basket area that allows for quick easy mounting of the awning. Like this.




So with the Pro-Speed rack the top bar is set inboard from the lower bar, so that doesn’t work. I gave it some thought and decided to do something with hinges since I absolutely hate the L bracket set up they come with.




So I marked them and drilled them to match the whole spread on the awning bracket. I used some random bolts for mock up. I picked up the right size later in the afternoon.




Then it was ready to measure the rack. So after 16 working hours at Firestone they were finally ready for me to pick up the LR3 from its alignment. It goes back Monday as apparently they were unaware the truck should not turn straight off the road if you aren’t steering for a left turn.

So I marked and drilled the holes to match the rack mounting holes.

And folded in...





And extended.





Really happy with the results of the awning not so much the alignment... One more thing off the list.
