Default Axle Seal Cross Reference...

I was trying to locate the outer cv half shaft seal. Aka cv axle seal for the passenger front axle. The drive shaft seal is not the same part and there is confusion on the websites about that. I even called Lucky 8 and the guy that answered the phone told me that the drive shaft seal part is the one I needed....not his fault, I think he was new and was confused.

After lots of searching, calling, and frustration, I found it! The part number for the correct seal is TZB500050...now I didn't want to wait another week for that to show up so I checked the part number on the old seal and that is DANA 2001326

Then I discovered that correlates to Corteco 01025620B and based on their site link: http://ecatcorteco.com/web/corteco/en_GB/$catalogue/140/$product/01025620B_630/datasheet.xhtml

the seal was made for BMW, and Ford too. If you go to that link (or see the pic) you will see the model cross reference so you can go find the seal in stock at your local auto parts store...because for some reason, they don't offer the Land Rover one.

Often I’m amazed at how parts research hours often exceed wrench time.

Great info! I hope I don’t need it.

Yup... mine usually arrive in BMW packaging OR Corteco. Make sure it comes with the red plastic protector, which is left on until after the shaft is inserted. then broke in half to remove before the shaft is finally sealed. Without that part the seal can easily be damaged and you end up with a leak. Lucky8 does NOT ship theirs with that part even though they say they do. Reason #567 why I dont ever shop with them.
