Default Battery and alternator problem

My battery light came on on my 2005 LR it has a 4.4 L engine I was told that my alternator was not charging the battery so I replaced the alternator and replaced the battery both parts are new and I still have the red battery light on and will not go out also my fan for the engine is running very high and loud. Can someone give me information on what to do now with the new alternator been installed in a new battery with 925 cold cranking amps but the battery light is still on can someone please help me.Thanks darwin

Get a multi meter and check the battery voltage while the car is not running. Should be over 12 volts.

start the car and turn on every electrical item possible then check the voltage, should be around 13 volts.

My guess is the alternator is bad.

fan noise could be your alternator is actually making the noise or your fan clutch is dying.

Check your primary fuseable link. Its next to the battery, inside a small black device. I had starting issues until I cleaned the contacts. Really bad corrosion could prevent charging. Beyond that, all wiring should be inspected.
