BG fuel injection/induction service
The throttle plate is purely from the service, there was no physical cleaning at all. LR does not specify, but Jaguar(who makes the engine) advises against physically cleaning the TB, as you can remove a coating. If you look closely, you can see where the Carbon had somewhat changed the surface of the blade, both in the before and after shot.
Dave,
I have a 2005 LR3 HSE w/67,000 miles. The dealer just replaced the MAF and about 6 months ago they replaced 5 ignition coil packs and diode as well as spark plugs. Should I have the fuel injection service you describe?
Also - should I have the 3 remaining coil packs replaced? It seemed add that they only did 5.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

An injection service is good, the cleaner things are, the better everything will work. Ideally you want to change the plugs after doing an injection service, as it is a very aggressive chemical, and can damage the plating on the plugs.
Why did you have 5 coils replaced?? They really do not fail that often, and when they do, it's at random, not several at once.

I've got some coils in order for mine, should be here Monday. I notice some have been replaced before. I think the previous tech failed to fix the problem because the lr3 manual gives incorrect cylinder numbering. I found a jaguar document online and it helped a bunch in figuring out what rover had labelled wrong.
A couple months later another failed so I asked them to replace all as I was worried that I would be in a remote location when the next one failed. They only replaced 4 more as they were out of stock. Would you replace the other three?
I really appreciate the advice!
Gordon
