Sounds like a plan, and you're welcome. Please post some pics when you're all set up!

I find it a little surprising that no one is mentioning how much of a DOG your LR3 turns into when you go from 30" to 32" overall tire dia.

Tires and the lift rods dropped my mpg by about 20%, but I'm mostly slower speeds / stop and go - the net taller gearing really makes the thing work harder in that environment. Wish I had the 5.0 LR4 lol

Maybe it's just a dog in slower speed stop and go driving...hmmmm?

It does take an on-road performance hit with larger tires; that hit is proportional to the performance upgrade off-road. I think I said as much, earlier...or maybe that was on a different thread. I can't remember.

Lol. I've mentioned that! My MPG dropped by about 20% as well and I see the performance issue on the freeway in addition to around town. Basically, the LR3 does not like to sit in 6th gear anymore as it just doesn't have the power to move all that weight up small hills on the freeway with the larger tires.

Exactly! I actually kinda feel bad, because I find myself becoming frustrated with the vehicle, but it wasn't designed for that final drive ratio. Sometimes I want to slap the stockers back on for a few days just to put a grin on my face again lol.

True though - the slightest blip of the throttle and she wants to downshift. It's actually annoying driving through hilly roads, as the vehicle thinks "damn this acceleration doesn't match what I expect at all, time to downshift!" even if it doesn't really need to - it's just seeing the different loads / torque calculation / speeds vs tps vs rpm vs gear, etc.

Of course if we could slap a gear set in there like the wrangler folks, we'd be golden.

I'm commuting on the greenway now, and a couple of the hills (at 70mph) require a double downshift if you're in cruise control. I leave it in command shift at 6th now, which cuts 90% of the problems, and SOMETIMES I'll make it go to 5th for a second.
