Default California stop bug (still there)

Had the California stop bug on my recently purchased 2006 LR3. Dealer did the upgrade, said it still had an issue with the injectors and wanted $200 to fix that. It's better but not gone.

Is this supposed to go away completely, or do some LR3s always have the issue? Anything else to be done about it?

I've never used the dealer system. If it doesn't do it automatically, did they reset transmission adaptive values after updating the code?

No idea. I have an IIDTool on the way and will try when I it. Excellent suggestion that I'm hoping solves the problem. Curious and frustrating if they didn't do this.

It's a problem with accelerator hesitation at rolling stops. Often called the "California Stop" bug. Apparently requires a s/w upgrade to fix it. I got the upgrade but am still having the problem.

Some info here and here. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue or limitation. If it was purely software it would be fixed by now. Clearing the adaptive settings will hopefully resolve it.

Ahh ours has done this, slow for a red light, light turns green while slowing, push gas nothing for a second then jerks like a neutral drop, do not like this seems it would lead to mechanical damage

Not all the time though

Got my IIDTool and reset the adaptive values. It's much better, but not gone. I went days without seeing this issue, then it hit me pretty hard yesterday. I live in the hills. This happens most frequently for me on a rolling stop going uphill. Less frequently going downhill, and least frequently when driving on flat roads.

Have to agree with all the comments here about the IID Tool. It's expensive, but worth it. I got the cheaper version and find navigating the tool via the dash display perfectly adequate.
