For a start they never came with any 4cyl motor, and as far as conversions go you would need to swap out every ECU in the car to make it work so just by a V8 vehicle.

So.the thing is I have the lr3 that' a diesel engine. Im just wanting to.keep the body and use a lr4 as a donor vehicle. The worry is if I can transfer everything without an issue or will the lr4 engine not fit in the lr3

You would probably have to transfer everything over...like almost all of it aside from the frame/chassis. Not worth it.

Agreed with the others, its a huge amount of work and effort when you could just sell the LR3 and the LR4 engine that's going to be worth a pretty penny on its own and just buy a V8 LR3. I'm assuming if you have an oil burner you are in Europe or possibly somewhere down under.
