Cheap ones never work on these trucks. Gonna want a Denso one or full OEM

MAF replacement usually requires engine adaptations reset.

I purchased an OEM MAS today. The CK light is still on
I must say the engine is the one thing that has been fantastic for over 98,000 in this 2005 LR3
As soon as it arrives I will install it
Will the computer reset itself ?
thanks for the info.

The computer can reset itself but it will need to see a few different trips with no problems before it will self clear. There is a chance it is hard faulted and won't clear though. Best bet is to just clear the faults and if possible reset engine adaption values.

Ok great
up until now I haven’t purchased a diagnostic tool. Can you recommend one I can use to preform the clear and adaption if that becomes necessary to do?
waiting for the OEM MAS to arrive.
thankyoi.

GAP IID

It's pricy but worth every penny and will pay for itself in no time.

It's as close to having a dealer computer as you can get

I’m seriously thinking of investing in this diagnostic tool you recommend.
What is the most likely reason you would connect it to your Rover?
I know by watching a couple of videos on it I will definitely be able to clear a filter and diagnose future codes
Thanks for any knowledge you can throw my way.

No exaggeration you'll be able to do just about anything computer related with it.

Some features are:

Change ride height settings
Recalibrate air suspension
Reset engine and transmission adaptions
Hard reset vehicle
Turn off TPMS sensors
Put ebrake in diagnostic mode (needed for rear brake rotors)
Program keys
Read live values for all sensors
Read and clear codes
