CK engine light on mass airflow sensor
I replaced the mass airflow sensor OEM from Atlantic British a couple of years ago. The issue was a check engine light kept going on. This is totally different and yes, that is the code the one that you stated any thoughts thank you.
Hmmm, It could be a bad MAF again, one could go bad within a couple of years. A cheap thing to try is get some MAF cleaner (any autoparts store should have it) and gently spray the sensor and see if that works.
What type of air filter do you use? I can tell you from personal pain/experience that the fancy K&N filters that your "charge" with the red spay oil will mess up MAF sensors.
After that I would check to make sure you do not have any air leaks after the sensor, but you would probably get some other codes if that was the case.
Then you would need to check the wiring harness that goes between the ECM and the MAF plug itself. Get some electrical contact cleaner and spray them.
You can also do a continuity check on the wires but you will have to remove your battery, and dig your way to the ECM to get to the other side. Been a while, but I am pretty sure the MAF is hard wired straight back to the ECM.
Let us know what you find.

Ok thanks will do👍
I just removed the K&N cleanable filter and put in a Mann standard filter yesterday. It wasn’t really dirty and I also cleaned tha mass airflow sensor with the spray. I picked up at a Napa auto parts store. It wasn’t dirty sprayed it anyway put a can of fuel injector cleaner in liquid Molly as well to take a ride today to Land Rover dealership about an hour from me, I’ll let you know.

Speaking of which, when was the last time you cleaned the throttle body?
Sooo,
is brought it into Land Rover during the drive on open highway all symptoms disappeared reduce engine performance notice stopped. I continue to Land Rover an 1 hr drive on open highway slowing and accelerating several times I let them check it out. They test drove it checked it and couldn’t find anything wrong. I believe I may have gotten a fill up of bad gas and between that running itself out the fuel injector cleaner, the new air cleaner, and the MAS cleaner. I may have hit the problem and it’s now resolved. I’ll certainly find out on the trip home 1000 miles thanks for your input.

Yesterday the Reduced Engine Preformance chimed in again on the highway at 70mph but this time with a check engine light
it threw a P0101-00 code so I ordered a MAS from Atlantic British OEM which came today overnight.
It’s a Delphi product ???? They claim it’s a quality aftermarket OE sensor. I installed it cleared the faults and took it out for a test drive
As soon as I got on the highway within 2 mins it chimed in with a reduced engine preformance notice but not a CK engine light. I completed the drive 40 mins at different speeds with no further notices or faults.
Any tech out there??
should I do a hard reset anyway?? Thanks guys for any advise.

OK, this morning I decided to take a fresh look at this problem. For those interested this is what I found. This is a 2005 LR 3 4.2
new Mass airflow sensor as indicated earlier.
1- the gooseneck below the oil fill cap under the
manifoldcover was loose,(vacuum leak ? Probably.)going into the valve cover on top of the engine.Ugg!
2-I cleaned the throttlebody something that I should’ve done first it was pretty dirty.
3-I reset the throttle body to specs with my analyzer.
4-I did a hard reset and took it one step further and ran a wire from the disconnected positive side to the negative to draw out any remaining power from the ECU
Took it out for a drive 50 miles on the open highway
No indications or notices coming up any longer The true test will be the thousand mile trip home in a few days but honestly, I think it’s fixed who knows what fixed it could’ve been one or two problems I’ll update after I get home. Thanks again for your help.
