I'm a new LR owner ( 2006 Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged ( trim HSE)) and I'm having code issues with the P0128 coolant thermostat. I have looked at the several of the Forums and read everything I have found on this code, "BUT". I did change the thermostat and the temperature sensor by the thermostat, cleared the code and hoped for the best. Nope did not take care of the code. SO I started checking the temperature reading with my Blue Driver to see how things were working. The first couple of days the temperature would not go much over 143 or so in degrees. A couple of days ago (about 15 minutes after I started the car and before getting on the Interstate) I had to take a trip out of town and I noticed the dash gauge was higher then it had been since I have owned the car. The Blue driver showed that temp had come up to 179 degrees and I thought that I had been caught by air in the system and it had finally moved and I would find the reservoir low on anti-freeze. I checked and found the level still full and after driving a few miles on the highway the dash gauge dropped low again, I checked the Blue driver and it showed the temp back in the 140 degree range again. I drove 200 plus mile that day and no change in the temp still low all day. The next day on my way back I had the same things happen, Temp came up to the 179 range then dropped back to 140 degrees. I have the lower temp sensor coming in a few days but I don't think this is going to make any difference. I'm not sure am I having a fan clutch problem OR???????
BTW I am in Michigan and the out side temperature here have been in the 20's or the last few weeks if that makes any difference.
I appreciate anyone takimg the time to read this post and hope for the expert advise that I believe is on this Forum.

Looks like this has been about a month with no replies, did you by chance get this resolved? I am having a similar issue with my supercharged 4.2. P0128, not getting up to temp fast enough. I have replaced and tested everything and all is good. I did hear about a second Thermostat or a Oil Cooler Mixer Valve (OCMV) but for the life of me I cannot find it on the supercharged model.
