Cold Climate and Air Suspension

Cold Climate and Air Suspension
Seeking some input from the owners in Canada and Northern US. My 06 is due for the air strut replacement. It spends its time between Denver and Casper Mountain Wyoming. Up north the temps can easily be in the below zero (Fahrenheit) area for multiple days in the row, so, I need to decide whether to convert it to coils for fear of the bags cracking in the cold, or stick with air. What is your experience in the cold temps? Thanks

0 Fahrenheit is only -17.778 celsius. No issues with suspension. A well maintained D3/LR3 won’t have any issues. As you have a petrol you won’t have issues starting, either, as long as your battery is good. Here in Finland I’ve started weeks at a time at -29 Celsius and it’s fine. Not aware of any urban legends w.r.t. airbags splitting either.
YMMV.

Only thing kinda related that I've heard is that when parking, especially if it's for days or weeks at a time, you should vary the position (i.e. Access v Normal v Off-road) that you leave the EAS in so that it doesn't develop creases. I could see this being exacerbated in a cold climate, too.

I have not experienced any problems with mine in temps down to -40C (-40F), but I have a fairly new Hitachi compressor and if I have airbag problems will likely replace with Arnotts. If well maintained an air suspension should not be problematic in cold weather, my son has a Lincoln Aviator with air suspension, no complaints...
