I am looking to get a replacement for my Hitachi, in the '06. It still works but I think it's nearing end of life. Any suggestions on where to source a new Hitachi?

I know the usual suspects (AB, Lucky 8) so looking for other spots that folks have had good luck with.

LR Direct maybe... shipping will be high, but it is 3-day and I find that even with shipping the parts are still much cheaper than US sources. And dont forget about Amazon. They sell a genuine Hitachi for just under $400.00 - sold by Amazon themselves, so should be no shady selling fake BS going on.

With that said I had a Hitachi and still prefer it, but I got an Arnott compressor (AMK style) on Amazon for just $300 ($578 normally) that was "used like new". Basically a return, it was 100% new never installed. And it works great. Arnott is the only aftermarket one I would trust. So maybe keep an eye out for some cheap returns. Nice thing with Amazon is how easily things can be sent back if not up to par.

 

I bought the Hitachi from Amazon for my 2006. It's legit and a great price. I also found www.miessler-automotive.com/Discovery-3-III-LR3-L319-2004-2009_1 as a good source for fittings and valves.

I've learned to think about customer service and warranty response when buying LR parts. If I found a genuine Hitachi for less than what AB is charging, I'd tell them about it, referencing their best price guarantee.
