Default Coolant/Antifreeze Flush

Man oh man, never thought buying coolant would be difficult!

The owner’s manual (2006 LR3 HSE V8 4.4L) calls for Castrol SF, which is no longer made(?). LR dealer says they use “Land Rover coolant”–and could/would provide no further details :/. Local british repair shop said use anything that’s up to Ford OEM spec. Autozone has organic acid technology (OAT) and Hybrid OAT options.

In light of all this confusion, will some kind soul provide their recommendation and explain why it’s the proper coolant to use?

Many thanks to you all

Just need to comply with the "Dexcool" standard. Zerex Dexcool is usually easy to find. If you want to go the "OEM" route then Halvoline Extended Life is the best match, at least for off the shelf stuff.

Thanks! What is the Dexcool standard–and as opposed to what? The Havoline Extended Life is all organic acid technology, correct? Is that the same as Dexcool?

Dexcool is a GM marketing term for a coolant based on certain parameters. Dexcool is OAT.
