Coolant Issue!!!!

Cool Coolant Issue!!!!

LR3 2007... OK.... SOOOOO lol What is the most common fault with the following? Coolant was very low so topped it up and kept an eye on it as obviously this is odd??? It kept going low but no drips underside, nothing. So I took her for a run after topping up the coolant... Again.

This time... Lots of drips/a pool under the car, coolant!!

There are a splashes of coolant on the belts and hoses, the other day when I went to start her there was a squeaking from what sounded like a loose belt or, a water pump going out???

She's now dripping coolant very happily lol so before I have to go $$$$$ in, what is the most common issue here that I can look at fixing myself? I can handle a water pump or thermostat issue but beyond that I have yet to venture!!!!

Your thoughts much appreciated

You don't say which engine, assuming 4.4

First, pull the beauty cover and inspect a notorious "T" connection top center and to the right a little. To small black tubes go to it. It is for bleeding coolant. If you have the original plastic one, it can fail. Easy to replace and you can DIY anything from a home improvement store.
The water pump is really easy to replace on the 4.4. You also don't mention milage, but from what I have read the water pumps are pretty good on these. If you are less than 150k, it may be the issue but they seem to last well past that generally. The second biggest failure point is the t-stat housing - or so it's called. It actually the coolant crossover tube that also contains the t-stat housing with a couple sensors. Only go OEM on this part (less then $150 for the whole unit with t-stat, crossover and sensors). These crack and fail.

While you're at it, I'd replace that plastic T-fitting with a brass one.

...and don't drive around with low coolant!!! The 4.4 can easily die if overheated.

TY I did that today, it was the T joint that runs over the Throttle body, changed it for a brass adaptor cost me $4.76c YES!!!!!!!!
