Think I found the problem there was a piece that connects these to hoses together that is completely broken. Anyone know what exactly these are so I know what to ask for?

Gray, that's where a plastic valve goes. The part number for it is: LR027661

I ended up replacing mine with a brass one.

Thanks so much just grabbed the part before the dealer closed. I'm hoping this fixes all of the issues. Should have it back together in a few hours when I get home.

Well got home, went to work on it and found the tabs in the thermostat housing that hold the thermostat in place broke. Lol so back to land rover and will hopefully fix it today when I get off work.

Got it all fixed. Was a little bit of a pain to bleed the air from the system but it's running great now. We replaced the thermostat, thermostat housing, and a valve and flushed the system. Was pretty happy it wasn't anything serious. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Default SAME ISSUE - need some help!

I have a similar issue ( have a 2005 lr3 ) - went to LR dealer for oil change, left with a low coolant reading, and diagnosis of a "coolant leak", repair = $377 ( I think it's for a coolant/water pump replacement ). Tech said just to be careful until I bring it in again to get it done. Never before, but right after leaving, I noticed a small leak. Filled with coolant = good to go for a day or two. But suddenly it over-heated, seeming as though it's not taking the coolant from the resevoir now, when the day before, it was - with the hood up I can see some "bubbling" over sound ( it's coolant ). After lifting cover I noticed the Tvalve connector broken. I replaced it ( not with a land rover piece, but from auto shop ) but I'm still getting it to over-heat in a short period of time, still acting like it's not moving the coolant, or the leak is so big it just comes out of the coolant pump or something. I'm not a mechanic, I just would like some help or pics of "what it should look like" or something where I can do a slight diagnosis before taking it in this week - Thank you for your help.

I am guessing you need to bleed your coolant system.

Thank you - I'm getting it towed into the LR dealership, I don't want to risk additional problems.
