It would not warranty per se, but a "goodwill" part replacement as it should not be happening to a 6 year old vehicle.

Finished installing the replacement. Sadly, the only apparent difference between the old and new dashes is the instrument panel speaker area near the center of the windshield. The sunlight load sensor has a slightly different housing. Other than that, the dash material itself feels the same. We'll see how long this lasts.

That being said, it looks great. It's nice to not have to stare at those annoying cracks every 10 seconds. I cleaned everything as I went. Even the carpets under the seats and footwell areas. Ended up taking me around 10 hours this weekend with plenty of football and beer breaks.

Ps: I have no idea why my phone uploads photos upside down lol. Yes, it is annoying.

How long is it taking to do the job, it looks too simple in the manual?

Around 10 hours over 2 days. The manual is nearly useless. I posted the procedure earlier in this thread. Basically, everything from the front dash and center console has to come out. That includes the drivers, center, and passenger dash structures. All electronics and the center console have to come out. It's not that difficult (at least not in a mechanical sense), but is time consuming. Keeping track of the 1,000,000 screws and fasteners that have to come out is the biggest thing. I'm crazy about putting screws back.

This is what the dash looked like...

I opened up a case with LR NA on my passenger side dash over the airbag where the pre punched lines were coming through. On my 07 they had the dealer look it over and agreed a goodwill payment of $750 on a $1500 job. I decided to pass...I have an 04 Audi which has no issues on the dash at all. Very disappointing...

That's essentially what they did with me. Split the parts and labor. Part was $950. Labor was quoted about the same. LRNA supplied the part. I did the labor. Not a bad deal IMO. Then again, it did take 10 hrs of my weekend... Still happy though.

Default I repaired my cracked dashboard without taking it out!

Here’s a link to a video I made of the repair process. It is a process, (but done correctly) it should be a permanent fix. Let me know if anyone has any questions or needs any help. Also, please let me know what you think about the video?

I don't see Land Rover doing anything they are not forced to do. You probably don't want to put a dash cover on, because there are air bags in the dash.

I kind of suspect the only real fix would be replacing the dash top..

Does the LR4 dash find in an LR3? Very different material.

Default Repaired cracked dash

It is a major sore point with my wife and a major embarrassment when friends or new acquaintances are impressed and excited to ride in the LR, to only settle into the seat and notice the dash...ewwww!
Check out this video I made while repairing the dash in my LR3. It is a process, I’ve repaired them several ways and I truly believe this is the best way. It’s not easy, but (done correctly) it should be a permanent fix. Let me know if anyone has any questions or needs any help. Also, please let me know what you think about the video?
