Default Prevalence/Frequency of occurence of cracked dash

So we are considering adding an LR3 to our D2 fleet, but the cracked dash is a deal killer for us, so I have several questions for experienced LR3 owners:
  1. Are/were there specific years that this did or did not occur?
  2. Did any of dash cracks appear during warranty periods such that LR replaced the dash? if so did they re-appear on the replacement
  3. Have any of the early models made it to 2018 without dash cracks?
  4. Is there a way to prevent them from cracking? I have heard that even low mileage garage kept models have dash cracks

Both my 06 and 07 have dash cracking around the passenger side air bag. As far as I know they are original dashes.

My 07 has no cracks. PO parked it outside and I park in my garage although it does spend time outside a lot. I made a cover from a pattern I took from one of my friends that had an original cover for his dash but mine does not cover the hump at the centre console. I think that might be saving me as I am convinced that exposure is a contributing factor

My 06 is just starting to now. 1 crack on the left edge of the passenger air bag.

105k miles all in New England

My 07 is cracking slightly but interestingly enough. the 06 in the salvage yard near me if perfect which is exposed to weather as the doors/tailgate isn't always closed. They said they would remove it for $250, airbag attached. Not sure how much of a pain it would be to replace...

My 06 is cracked on the passenger side airbag outlines too. Forms a very wide "H" shape. Depending on tempts the cracks open or can be completely invisible. I've wondered if the LR4 dash will fit as apparently its not prone to the issue?

I'm not going to comment on my '05 because I don't want to jinx it....but suffice it to say climate and garage/outside and products on the surface are all contributing factors.
