Cummins R2.8 Swap
With the recent threads discussing engines swaps and their related costs, I came upon this Youtube video discussing the new Cummins R2.8 crate engine program. While the video doesn't mention the cost, commentators were chiming in with $8-9k. I think this is an interesting solution for not only LR3's but any older trail rig.
Given how tied into all the other computer systems the engine is, I would expect this would be a nightmare in an LR3/LR4. I contemplated swapping in a 4.2 Supercharged from the RRS for a little while, but then realized I would probably need to at least swap out the transmission (or at least the TCM?) as well so they would work together. The LR3 is one big computer network.
161hp would also make it an absolute dog.
