CV boots worth replacing?
Yesterday I was at the mechanic, I thought I heard a low whine from my Front Passenger side, and had some shake in my steering wheel (80 to 100 km/h). I thought it was time to do Outter tie-rods, and Wheel Hub assembly. The mechanic looked at it, handed it back to me and said, "wheel balancing". Just before heading out to Albany NY (500km away) I went in to my tire shop to get the wheels balanced.
This is what they saw
Question is it worth replacing the boot? The shop is going to charge me 1.5 to 2 hours and not knowing if there is any issues developed with the CV (no noise yet), or, do I get axle and CV and replace the whole thing.

Ended up buying a boot $24, and getting it replaced for $132 which isn't bad in our neck of the woods. Done at Autovation in Stitsville, just outside Ottawa. Would have done it at the dealer but I'm finding the service level unsatisfactory of late. Ottawa Landrover forgets things, and charges me for things that they checked incorrectly, no more of my business for them! Redshaw missed my tore CV boot when they were supposed to check my front end, no more of my business for them!
