Default Disconnect Battery to reset TPM

I have been experiencing intermittent TPM system faults for a couple of months but more recently the error message comes on everytime I start the truck and never turns off. Pep boys replaced two bad sensors and confirmed that all 5 (including the spare) are functioning & transmitting correctly but the warning won't go away. I have read that disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes will "hard reset" the system which would cause the sensors to re-stablish communication with the truck and possibly save me from having to replace the module.

Seems like there is nothing to lose by trying, but I wanted to see if there is anything LR-specific I need to know about disconnecting the battery. I am coming from a BMW that basically required a computer science degree to disconnect the terminal. My fear is that I reconnect everything and all of a sudden there are new errors and faults, check engine lights etc that I didn't have before.

Just wait two minutes after shutting down truck and closing doors. Its a timer system that puts things to "sleep". Technically its not required if you really are doing a hard reset, the issues is that if you disconnect too soon some settings files can corrupt.

I'd wait 15 min....some systems are more sensitive, especially if they are on the CANBUS. Stereo and NAV come to mind.

On another note, it could just be a bad TPMS module, they tend to fail being located in the roof. Lots of heat up there and I think that makes em fail.

I did slightly pull down the headliner and can see the module. Is it simply a matter of getting a new module, unplugging the old one and swapping in the new one?

I believe so, I dont recall them being VIN locked. A new module will take a while to sync up to the sensors though, probably 20 miles of driving.
