Default Door lock switch

Recently purchased a 2006 LR3 HSE. My question is in regards to the dash door lock button. When locking the doors by pushing the lock button it locks all doors as it should. When I close the drivers door upon exit it unlocks. Is this normal? It is like you have left a key fob inside the vehicle. If I lock the doors via the remote all is good; all stay locked as designed.

Well I may have figured this one out on my own. Looks like the mfg does it this way so you don’t lock yourself out. If fob is in hand you are good to go (locking the drivers door as you walk away)

If I notice the car is not locked up and I don' have the key with me (as in I forgot to lock it up last time I went into the house) I usually walk around and open the passenger door, push the lock button then close the passenger door. All doors are then locked up.

BUT BE WARNED! If you left the key fob in the car, ...... well I think you know the rest of the story.
