Default Dreaded lower control arms

Finally getting around to replacing the front lower control arms on my LR3. I was getting the death wobble around 50 mph, the occasional clunk when braking, and poor wheel alignment.

I’m replacing them and am having a TON of trouble getting the new parts on. I’ve watched every walkthrough video I could find and read every relevant blog post here and elsewhere.

I’ve tried switching the order of when adding the new part into each of its connection points and after hours still no luck. When I do have the cam bolts in, the strut bolt doesn’t align. The vehicle was in access mode and had the battery pulled. Did anyone else encounter this kind of trouble? Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Deflate the bag, you can do so at the valve block. You can also do so at top of the strut but I find the valve block easier to access. Normally you would want to command the system to deflate all corners, but you need a GAP tool or laptop to do it.

You are a wizard, sir. I had actually just finished doing exactly this (under front of front passenger wheel well) before seeing your reply, and it was the final bit needed. Woo doggies, that was some work.
