Default EAS Rear Transfer Relief Valve Install - The Easy Way!

Hi folks,

Just thought I would share some install tips for the LR3 rear valve assembly. The info I read and youtube video I saw seem to show you having to reach up from underneath where the spare tire is to get the side connections. Seems super difficult and requires tiny hands and some super flexibility.

I just replaced mine yesterday and it took about 30 minutes all from the wheel well with no bloodshed either!

Loosen left rear wheel lugs
Open hood to prevent automatic height adjustments
Jack vehicle up and place on suitable jackstands
Deflate air from system (Gap tool or the like)
Remove wheel

From the wheel well:
Disconnect electrical connector to valve assembly
Disconnect bottom air line on assembly (10mm)
Lift valve assembly up to disconnect from mounting plate (just three rubber grommets holding in place)
Rotate valve assembly so electrical connector is pointing up, this will give you easy access to the two side air lines
Remove both airlines (also 10mm)
Pull assembly out!

Install is just the reverse.

Very simple. I didn't take pictures but I think you'll pretty much figure it out once you get in there. The main trick is rotating the assembly so you can get to those two side lines from the wheel well rather than from under the vehicle.

Also, not sure if it is necessary but I have heard it is important to have some pressure in the bags before you compress them (aka lower the car back to the ground). So I just used the Gap tool to pressurize the system a tad before lowering. Not sure if necessary but figured better safe than sorry.

Cheers!
