Default engine immobilizer

Please can i get some help. Had a friend install new thermostat houseing. On a 2006 lr3 hse. I installed new battery. When key is inserted into ignition hazard lights begin to flash. When key is turned, there is no response. All dash lights come on. And suv responds when key fob buttons are pushed. Car started fine before job was started just need some advice please ive disconnected the battery several times still wont turnover. Please help.

Maybe try a hard reset.

Remove key. Disconnect both battery leads. Leave the vehicle and have a cup of tea. Come back and short the cables together DO NOT short the battery (obviously). You're aiming to discharge the electrics in the vehicle (as opposed to blow yourself up). You will need some heavy gauge wire (eg jumper cable). Leave them connected for 5 mins.

Have you checked the big link on the positive of the battery. The other thing is to check the negative lead and make sure it goes to earth properly. Simple check, take a link from negative terminal to engine and see if it turns over. Check that battery has at least 12.8 volts.
