Erratic idle

I have an 05 LR3 v8 that jumps between 500 and 750 rpm in park or neutral. When placed in gear the idle stabilizes. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I cleaned the throttle body, what a gunky mess, idle problem is fixed. The throttle seems much smoother when accelerating from a stop. I also changed the expansion tank and rear sway bar end links.
