Exchanged Radio from Junker
Hey guys, just changed out my radio from a junker. Exact same model (vux500330). Head is powered up red light at back and in cord to the amp. But no sound. Am performing hard reset first to see if this helps. Do I need any software update being it's from a different car? Or hard reset clears everything out? Thanks everyone.
I have the SE model with the upgraded Telephone option and has the 6 disc changer. Radio model Vux500330 and amp XQK500095. Great sounding system but radio was coming on and off until it died completely. Had usual water intrusion and fixed them (both exterior pillars repairs, cleaned sunroof drains and rear sunroof drains). No water coming in near cabin filter or CJB but replaced exterior winshield cowl just in case. I found an exact replacment radio nearby but it did come out of an HSE with the Logic 7 system. Radio does now come on but no sound. Cant access special radio functions or change fade, balance etc... Red light coming out of cable at amp and Nokia telephone module in passenger compartment. I now assume the amp is bad as well due to all the water in drivers and passengers floor channels. Checked all blue-taped wiring joints (seems stupid for LR to do that). Did have a major problem with mice...everywhere! Cleaned out two nests and 7 dead/ petrified mice!! 🤢 Have checked and rechecked all wiring (logic probes, Circiit Tracers). Found a couple of chewed wires here and there but nothing major. Still have issue with HVAC defrost motor giving me PERMANENT error even after replacing all the motors (left-right blend door motors and the two above each side. I have learned more about wiring diagnostics than I ever wanted to know, but I have enjoyed (somewhat) the process. Did replace with new battery and now have gone back to original bulbs for all interior and exterior lights( had replaced with LEDS though out when first purchased car).
I do have to finish installing all items, hard reset and drive for a bit before maybe some of these clearing itself up. I have an awesome Autel MP808 scan tool but will be upgrading to the GAP tool as I have found this can flash and reprogram.
Questions: Does the LR3 require any resetting via scan tool for a new battery? Finally, do I also have to reset internal for a new radio since it came out of a different vehicle? From previous answers posted the radio should work. Thanks everyone.

Water and mice, dealing with that now on my neighbors LR3. We settled on a full body harness swap, those buggers even got into the roof.
I sorta doubt your radio was faulty, usually sound issues are amp related and internal. So they can be intermittent. Even in perfect conditions they can fail because the LOGIC7 chip starts to unglue for the board. And if ANY water gets to the amp, even high humidity, then its just a train wreck of issues.
No reset for battery, just doing the swap will be enough. The radio should just work, its just a basic head unit/changer - the actual brains are really in the AMP. Think of the head unit more as an extension to the AMP, sorta.
