Default exhaust

Anyone know how much louder the exhaust is with that giant stainless turtle removed? I need to fix the tailpipes and was thinking about removing the giant resonator and putting pipes in its place, the 3 stock mufflers would be retained

Btw my wife does not want the rover loud but this all seems Mega restricted

What I hope for is it would still be relatively quiet idle and normal driving and only really be noticeable when you are in the throttle

No clue, but that was my biggest complaint about my LR3. It was almost TOO quiet. It makes a great sound if you drive it completely wide open, and get the RPMs way up, but the D2 or Acura TL it replaced would spit out some nice sound if you just gave it half throttle.

I was really tempted to get a complete cat back. Maybe I still will for the current LR3, when it comes back from the shop. I guess these thing don't wreck often enough, and the shop is still trying to find me a good running engine still in the car so they can hear it run.

HAH! Glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's too quiet! I sold my 06 RRS for this (same everything from an engineering point) but the exhaust was actually tuned well... or at least better.

I remembered what I was getting into after driving my friends a couple years back, but damn now that I own one it's been a struggle.

The other day I put gas in it.. came back in to start the car and nothing happened. I looked at the tach and it was sitting at ~720... already running.

With any sort of noise.. windows music etc, you can't hear engine speed at all. I'd prefer a little more "grunt" for towing and for command-shift.. I've literally left it in 4th or 5th I think because I couldn't even tell. Never had that problem in the Sport.
