EXTENDED WARRANTY

EXTENDED WARRANTY
I bought an 06 LR3 last December. No problems at all - not even tire wear. I have, however, put 15K miles on it in 8 months - which is leading me into some driving dilemas such as the LR3 vs company sedan on long business trips or LR vs wife's Jeep Wrangler for long drives to the parents. During my 15K check up the dealer said I could still get an extended warranty - 7 yr/100K - for around $4300. He said it will go up 20 percent at 20K. I tend to keep cars a long time - I've only owned a Chevy S-10 and and Jeep Grand Cherokee since 1986. I thought folks on this board my have some useful opinions about extended warranties.
Are they worth it or should I just save the money and pay as I go when I go over 50K? Are they something you should shop dealer to delear or is it going to cost pretty much the same everywhere?

RE: EXTENDED WARRANTY
For the most part, the dealer offers the best coverage. Beware of MANY of the after market policys, the wording is such, on many of them of their policys that you won't get the coverage you want when the time comes.
By the way, $4300 is a little pricey. I would call 2 or 3 dealers and shop the price. Although they all offer the same policy, their prices can varey.
