extended warranty is it worth it
I have an 01disco with 37k on it. A 4 year 75k warranty is available for 1700.00 Its bumper to bumper. Has anyone else ever gotten it. Is it worth it? I figure one serious landrover repair and it will have paid for itself. Let me know what you think guys. Thanks
I think the rule of thumb for Land Rovers is, "Ya, it's worth it." In your situation, I'd want even more miles. On my new '05 Rangie I got a 10yr/100k all inclusive warranty for $3200. Try shopping around, and always make an offer. My warranty was originally offered at $4200, then they took $600 off that, then sold it at the final price. I wonder if I could have done even better. Also note: I've NEVER left the Land Rover service department for under a grand. Warranty that sucker for as long and far as you intend to drive it. Good luck
Just make sure its Land Rover Extended I work with them all the time and they are willing to pay otherwise you may be paying alot more then the deductable. Otherwise Teamyonex is on the ball...
I bought it from the dealer, the only one they'd recommend. It's called "PRIMUSCare". It was the typical last minute haggling just before signing the deal. I walked out wondering if I just got fleeced, but upon review, I'm happy about the deal.
I also got the PRIMUSCare at the last minute on my 2001 Discovery. I've read the fine print that they sent me along with the wallet cards, and it's definitely a good coverage plan. It'll most likely pay for itself, unfortunately...
i agree with all the rest. it is a good plan and it will save you money in the long run. like it has already been said. it is difficult to get the dealer to repair and walk out and not pay 1000.00. also make sure you check your vehicle often and get the problems fixed as soon as possible. It is most important to do so 2-3k before the warrenty ends. hope it helps. gotta love a rover. duboff
