Default Five spoke V6 wheels on HSE?

Hey, anybody tried putting the 5-spoke 18" wheels that came on the V6 model on one of the V8 models?
The V8 SE and HSE have larger brakes than the V6's, so I am not sure whether the wheels from the V6 would fit.
I am interested in getting some Goodyear SilentArmor Wranglers for my HSE, but they are only available in 18's (265/60/18). I've located someone interested in selling me his five spoke V6 wheels, but I'm wondering if they will fit.
Anybody tried this or have any thoughts?
Thanks, Garrison

I have 18" V6 wheels on my HSE with Silent Armors myself and they fit perfectly. By the way, I just LOVE the silent armors!

Jantiz,

Thanks for the feedback. Encouraged by your experience, I plan to go ahead with both the five spoke wheels and the Wrangler Silent Armors. I live in Truckee, CA where we get approximately 20 feet of snow each winter (ski resort town near Lake Tahoe). I'm hoping the WSAs provide better snow traction than the standard Goodyears that came on the LR3. I also do a little off-roading in the forest land up here in the mountains and expect the WSAs to be more durable as well as providing better grip. Have you had any experience in the snow or off-road with your WSAs? How are they on the highway and around town?

Regards, Garrison

No snow yet, though I hope to correct that this winter . I have taken them off road quite often actually. Just yesterday I went back to Hollister SVRA for a day of fun. Hollister is a great place to off road with the only downfall being that the maps are very ( read extremely) out dated with many trails that have been made bydareing adventurers which do not show on the maps. Some of those trails are quite challenging and rough to say the least.

Well, as usual, I got quite lost yesterday following one of those trails and was "forced" to tackle someobstacles that I would probably not have taken on by choice had I known the degree of challenges awaiting me down the path. But since I was there and with very little choice of reversing all the way to the last intersection, I took them on smartly and trusted my LR3 and my new rubber to see me through. I left the park yesterday with a new found respect for what the LR3 is capable of and for the amazing traction I got (thank God) off my new tires and after the punishment was done, there was not a single cut, slice or chunk missing off my tires (or my new LR3) Hope my wife doesn't read this.

As far as on highway, they are nothing short of impressive. Quiet, smooth, solid traction, great manners on high speed cornering. Beat the original Wrangler HP's hands down. The 265/60/18's fit the newer vehicles like they were meant to be factory. Not too aggresive in appearance, not too large for the vehicle. I would recomend them to anyone I know.

Do let me know what you think about them, especialy how they handle in the ice/snow when you get a chance for some more snow driving, as I have not tried them on that surface yet but they come highly rated for cold weather.

I'll definitely let you know how they work out for me. Once I find them. Did you get yours through a local dealer or did you have to order them online somewhere? My local Goodyear guy couldn't seem to find any available.

They seem to be in back order status country wide. I used a local dealer called America's Tire which is a partner with Discount Tires and the mananger had them shipped from Arizona. Took me a little over a month to get mine. I had many other choices I could have picked with on- hand stock but I decided the Silent Armors reviews alone made them worth the wait. Boy am I glad I did!

I hope to be taking them to Pismo Beach soon this summer to see how they handle deep sand. I'm sure they will excell in that as well. I already played around with deflating them down to 20psi and they seem to deflate very nicely with a beautiful contact patch!

PS.
Also contact the online store for Discount Tire, called Discount Tire Direct. They offered the lowest prices I could find along with a 30 day "no questions asked" return policy, and they honor that policy just as they say. I know, I used it when I returned the Nitto Terras I bought at first before the Silent Armors. I know Disco Mike along with a few others love the Terra Grapplers. And I have no doupt they do quite well off road, at least in the 285/18 size.My dislike with them was actually how they behave ON road. I have posted at some lenght already in other treads about the Terra Grapplers and my dislike so I wont do it again here.
