Flood Damage?
2008 LR3
A Salvage Yard says the ignition key wont come out of the column. Says someone left the sunroof or windows open in the rain. Says there is no other evidence of flood damage. Says everything works in vehicle.
Any thoughts?
How to get the ignition key out. And what else to look for.

Ignition key can be a bit fussy coming out at times in my experience. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't want to rotate completely into the disengage position. I just work the key while making sure the steering wheel isn't locked up. Could be the Park sensor is faulty or the linkage is out of sync as well.

May be the key interlock. Disconnect the ground lead on the battery wait a minute, reconnect and then try to remove key do not turn to on position or try to start it, just wiggle to remove it. If the console got wet, the park interlock on the shifter may be affected and not sending proper communications to the rest of the vehicle. This is designed to prevent you from removing the key while it is still in gear.
