Anyone got any info on why the foglights on my 06 HSE keep burning up fuses? Is this a common glitch? I know there's got to be a short somewhere, I putin a new fuse, turned on the foglamps and they stayed lit for about 5 seconds, then went out. Checked the replaced fuse and it was blown. Any help would be appreciated

 

I had the foglight fuse blow out twice. The first time the dealership replaced the fuse. The second time they performed some sort of repair (I did not ask for details) and no blown fuses ever since. I have heard of this problem before.

 

There is a spot along the front bumper wiring harness that has become chafed on the metal bumper and is causingthe foglight power feed wire to short to ground and blowing the fuse. The repair is to cut out the damaged section, solder in a new length of wire, and cautiously route the harness when reinstalling the front bumper cover.

 

Thank you tacomatech, that is good to know. I have had no problems since the repair. My LR3 is three years old now and I have had very few problems with it.

I just told the service tech at my dealership that the fuses kept blowing out. They seemed to know what the problem was before they looked at it. Just tell them that you believe there is a short.
