Default Follow-me-home lights QUESTION

One of the things that I really like about having an earlier 3 is that you get a lot more tactile control/feedback because there are physical buttons or switches for just about everything. That said I really don't like that when I come home from a drive at night and turn off the car, I go to switch the headlights off, and it keys up the "follow-me-home" lights that light up my street. I usually immediately turn it off by cycling through the light switch once more, but this is annoying. I personally don't want to be drawing a lot of attention when I arrive somewhere at night, especially with flashing headlights.

Is there any way to easily turn off/disable this feature?

Dude, so simple just click your info button on the signal stem and click until settings shows up and enter it, then scroll to follow me home lights and set the timer to zero or off i think. Super easy to fix and you can set your third button on remote to turn lights on and off so have it when you need it.

I *think* the problem with this is that it's based on the headlight off delay and the lowest setting is 30 seconds. There is no off. Major oversight by LR if you ask me.

Yes it was an oversight, just like the foglights cannot be used in the auto position! This feature is programmable for the 'on' position, but for the "auto" postion it is automatic and non-adjustable. You have to either turn the light switch off or turn the ignition off and quickly back to I (first position) and then off again to turn them off. You will still get a quick flash of the lights though.....

Thanks all,

I read through some other threads here and on a few other forums and it seems that I may have to just continue cycling the lights off manually, OR I will remember to hit the switch before turn off the ignition. I will try seeing about adjusting the timer to the lowest setting but I dimly recall trying that method with the stalk when I bought the car.

Now I have heard from a few posts elsewhere that dealers can possibly disable this feature, could this be true?

There is apparently a lot the dealer can do, if you really get a good tech they can call land rover tech division and get a master code for your VIN to change actual programming in the ecm
