Was going to echo what others said about getting a second opinion on the battery. Kind of like when my "local shop" told me that my battery was good, when I had setup an appt to have it replaced based on the wonky, dash fault messages I kept getting. Two weeks later, went wheeling and camping on a quick overnighter with two buddies, just to wake up the morning to drive home and my battery was dead.

This was before I had bought my MicroStart...

Keep us posted.

Glad it's fixed! Yeah the only way to do a real battery test on these things is to put a load on them ~250+ amps and make sure the voltage stays up around 11.

Most people just throw a volt meter and if it's 12.5 they say you're fine. Meanwhile it drops to 7-8 volts the second you put a load on it lol.

Makes perfect sense to me! And it's very close to me having to pay 45% of the battery cost. I'll find out when he checks the date at lunch

My battery went out when I was 30 miles from home. Vehicle was 4 yrs. old ( 2011 LR4 ). Never had a battery go out in a Rover in less than 6 yrs. Now, with all the electronics, and wife driving ( which means all things electric are used ), I will renew battery every 3 yrs with a 5 yr. battery.

You're in that "romantic period" with the rover right now. Not romantic in the sense that everything is wonderful, but romantic in the sense that you're going to get real intimate with the truck and learn all its little secrets.

BUT, once all the kinks are ironed out (which you will likely have a few more of), just make sure you maintain her and hopefully she will give you years of trouble-free service.

Well it's taken care of! Went to interstate and the battery was 25 months old. The guy at the store did all the work even though I kept trying to help....good people. Now I just need to get the cage mounted on top and I'll be happy!!!

Good deal...and good luck! I had an Interstate Batt that was 7 months old and was reading low in the non-charging state. This was after another Interstate did the same thing after about a year. I ended up going to a DEKA AGM battery.

It's good to share this info. Maybe in ten years we'll have it figured out.
